1684.0. "DECPAINT to take input from file?" by IOSG::BILSBOROUGH (Be Environment friendly, kill yourself) Tue Nov 07 1989 05:34

    Can anyone help

I've got a project to do and at the moment I'm just wondering if it
is possible at all!!. The question are ...

    1.	Is it possible to write an application which can scan the keyboard
and mouse and allow things to go on as normal for the other
    applications.

    2. Is it possible for DECPAINT to take it's input from a file instead
of keyboard and mouse. So that for example, I could give it a file and
it would use it to move the pointer around, choose an icon, menu etc.
How big a hack would it be?

I also need to know if these things are very difficult to do just so I
can decide whether to do it at all.

I'm sorry if these questions are naive but I haven't a clue yet
    about DECwindows.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike
