Is there any way to obtain the BDF files for DECwindows fonts? We are
trying to show X on a MAC using Whitepine's eXodus server and
Bookreader continually dies because of missing fonts. White Pine's
only suggestion is to get the BDF's and compile them on the MAC using
their utility.

As indicated in another recent note, the VMS/DECwindows sources contain
the BDF descriptions of the fonts which are distributed in compiled
form.
I believe but cannot say with certainty, that using the source to
recompile them for another server would be a violation of the license
we have from Adobe for some of them.
General points: there is a BOOKREADER conference on BULOVA; I wrote up
an example BDF font file in note 199 in ELKTRA::DW_EXAMPLES.

It is possible to get the font sources ... you need to speak to
Steve Mikulski (Hannah::mikulski) to explain why you need them .
Steve is the Corp Font Prog Mgr .

Could you have them make copies of *their* fonts with *our* names? | |||||
