Hello, I have been trying to figure out how to start notes from the new session manager applications pull down in 5.3. Everything I have tried $NOTES, MC NOTES etc just doesn't do anything and I have not been able to figure out how to get a task status box similiar to VUE to figure out what is happening. Essentually though it just never starts... Any ideas? Also note: when I start notes from VUE it does work but I get a... X Toolkit Warning: Widget class Svn version mismatch: widget 7001 vs. intrinsics 11003 X error event received from server: BadMatch - parameter mismatch Failed request major op code 42 (X_SetInputFocus) Failed request minor op code 0 (if applicable) ResourceID 0x600014 in failed request (if applicable) Serial number of failed request 1796 Current serial number in output stream 1797 %XLIB-E-ERROREVENT, error event received from server I realize this is more of a notes thing and I will search that conference but just thought I should post it here so that people considering going to 5.3 will know about it. I don't have DECwindows V2 to try it on, but did you try: $ NOTES/DECWINDOWS That's what I do on DECwindows V1 to start DECwindows Notes, and it works just fine ... Good luck, -- Jeff | |||||

yup you need /decwindows here's the com file i point to to run notes (from fileview) $! s.houle 7/89 $ vue$suppress_output_popup $ notes/decwindows I do get the version miss-match so thats what the "vue$supp...". steve | |||||

NOTES/DECWINDOWS in the CUSTOMIZE APPLICATIONS MENU in the Session manager seemed to do the trick...(VMS 5.3) It is odd that there doesn't seem to be any way to get an output popup. I guess in this case its sort of better though so you don't get the mismatch error with notes. | |||||
