1594.0. "DEC LOGO STAYS ON SCREEN" by HYEND::MNIKITAS () Wed Oct 18 1989 15:33

    HELP!!!!!

    Believe it or not....

    I'm running a VWS2K in a client server config. DECwindows and
    DECwrite,decision as the application platform.

    Problems with the xtoolkit yesterday caused us to reload the VWS,
    and now I can't get rid of the DEClogo and user box on first log
    in. After the first time login, I get an error message# 2db821c
    and it eats about two inches off the top of the window. When I
    log in again, the logo disappears, but the screen is still missing
    the top two inches. My users are :-(......

       help.....

1594.1DIR/TITLE=LOGO would help too!STAR::MFOLEYRebel without a ClueWed Oct 18 1989 23:1811

       	I can only assume that a "VWS2K" is in reality a VS2000.
       VWS is DEC's proprietary windowing system.

       	DIR/TITLE=2db821c should give you more info that you know
       what to do with.. Please try to use the power of Notes to
       help you first..

1594.3Explicit DECwindow statrup? NITMOI::PESENTIJPFri Oct 20 1989 11:567
I had this problem. It was due to having an explicit DECwindows startup
called from SYSTARTUP_V5.COM. I missed that part in the release notes. Once
I removed it, the problem went away. DECwindows is started by the standard
startup routines.
