Hello there can anyone help, I have just installed VMS 5.2 on a vaxstation 2000 with a monochrome monitor which can cope with decwindows. I have just put decwindows on my system using decw$tailor.exe . I have rebooted the system but it says no graphics devices connected to system and won't start decwindows up, help !!!! How do I get it to start decwindows. My terminal if used to log in as though no decwindows is on the system give the terminal as a la36 is this right can anyone help thank you martin :-)

Obvious things:
Is the SYSGEN parameter WINDOW_SYSTEM = 1? It should be. (action:
edit MODPARAMS and then AUTOGEN)
Does SYSGEN AUTOCONFIGURE/LOG "see" the GA* devices? It should (action:
try "TEST 50" or whatever it is for the BOOT ROM of the VS2000, and see
what the state of the video controller is) "???" means call field
service.

Note: For a monochrome device, it will be GC, not GA.
