1572.0. "LOGIN screen colour setting" by COMICS::FISCHER (Ian Fischer UKCSC) Fri Oct 13 1989 14:14

I have a customer who says one of his login screens is bright yellow.
Obviously somebody's set it to this - he doesn't know who or how.
Is it possible to set the colour of the login screen. I've looked
in this conference and DECWINDOWS_OLD, but not found a specific
    answer. (This is VMS DECwindows.)

I've also looked through the DECW$*.dat files in SYS$LIBRARY and
still had no joy. Can you help?

Is it possible? and if so how?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Ian

This may seem obvious, but check the RGB connections on the back of the
    monitor.

Also, how much customization is he (or anyone else on the workstation)
doing?
I have a VS2000, and have started customizing via the .dat files.
I haven't finished tracking down exactly which change is the culprit, but
somewhere along the line, my login screen inherited my personal colormap.
Comes up with default colors first time after the boot, but after I've logged
in, it has the background colors from whichever process has most recently
logged in.

RE: .0

I agree with .1, I have seen this before. Chances are that the RED and
BLUE cable is backwards. Swapping them should fix your problem.
