I have the following problem with the DECwindow-Mail and the File-View (VMS 5.1-1 with DECwindow): situation: - DECwindow MAIL tool is open and displays my drawers and my folders - there is no file selected in the File-View - the File-View is as an icon in the icon box action: - open a mail message - click the File-View from the icon box --> File-View is on the screen - select something from the menu <Files> from the File-View for example <COPY> problem: The line FROM: in the COPY-window has any text from the actual MAIL-message. Is that a known problem ? (Shared data buffer or something like that) regards Hansjoerg Brugger, SW-Support Switzerland

When you do a FileView COPY operation (or most any FileView operation), it uses whatever is globally selected. This is very useful - you could select a filename within a Mail Read window, say, then pulldown COPY to copy it. In this case, however, you had a mail message selected in Mail's main window, so that message got filled in by FileView. Just quadruple-click on the From field, hit the Delete key, then go select the filename you want and try again. Mike |
