DECwindows V2 has the facility to put up a site-specific display on the DECwindows login screen. Has anyone yet produced a general purpose program to take advantage of this feature ? For example, it would be nice to be able to specify a DDIF file, and a position on the screen to display it. I know I could always write my own, however I am *not* a graphics programmer, nor do I have time to become one ! Trevor

I've never tried this, so it might be naive to say this, but: won't VIEW work? The login background mechanism creates a process that executes a .COM file, so if the .COM file contained something like VIEW/xxxx, wouldn't it all be marvy? |
