1458.0. "override_redirect...after the fact..." by GSRC::WEST (Varibles don't, Constants aren't) Mon Sep 18 1989 18:16

First off...

  THE CUSTOMER IS *ALWAYS* RIGHT (I don't always agree...)

  Now then, with that said...

  The customer wishes to do the following:

    Have one process create and map a window. Have another process set
override_redirect to TRUE on said window.

  Okay...we go off and play. We get the top-level window (the topmost one
just before the window managers windows). We set override_redirect. We
unmap and the map the window.

  This works just great...because we kill the window manager.

  Is this really possible ?? If so, how.

  I know that the application that creates the window is supposed to do this
but this is not what the customer wants...sigh...

IMO, the window manager shouldn't crash no matter what a user application does.
I'd QAR this.
