         This is out of basic curiosity.  I just dumped the SDC VMS 5.2
        and DECWindows tapes and much to my surprise There where no
        DECW052.A, or DECW052.B save sets?   I have a CI cluster, at
        at VMS 5.2, and I now need DECWindows V1.0.  Do I need to
        re-install 5.2?  This time taking the DECwindows option, or
        are the save sets available?

         Will DECWindows always be delivered without the A and B
        save sets?  And would it behoove one to install DECWindows
        option if at anytime there might be a need for DECWindows
        on that system?

	On VMS V5.2 one can use the DECW$Tailor program to tailor off/on pieces of the DECwindows kit, including the whole kit. See the release notes/installation guide for more detail.

	Starting with V5.2, DECwindows is no longer a seperate kit, but is installed along with the VMS kit, and comes as part of the VMS kit. DECwindows is now either installed during the VMS installation (a question is asked during the installation) or by using the DECW$TAILOR facility to later install DECwindows. -bill
