I asked this in note 275.22, but since that is so old I'll ask here, "How do I get the icon name in the icon symbol with uwm?"

The answer depends on what you're asking. Do you want the user interface way or the programmer way? The user interface way would be to either use your .Xdefaults file or else add something like the following to your command line when you start up the application: myapp -xrm "*iconName: mystring" I'll ask someone else to do the code version if that's what you want. I want the user interface way, preferably through the xdefaults file since I'm running uwm, and everthing else, from VMS. Are icons unnamed by default? I can't get anysort of text to appear in my icons even when I know the icon has a name, which leads to me to think that the problem is not having a name but some switch to display the name. |
