Hello.
Apologies, in advance, if this has been asked before, but a dir/title could have
yielded all kinds of stuff that I *didn't* want to know about.
My configuration is a 16 MByte color CVAX, standalone, with VMS5.2 and FT1 of
DECW V2.0.
In order to display timing diagrams in AUTODLY properly, I need to change from
my color machine to a B&W configuration. In VWS, this was easy. You just used
the workstation setup menu. But in DECwindows, how can I change to be *either*
a gray-scale *OR* monochrome system???
I am on a tight schedule, and if I can't fix this immediately, I will have to
*INSTALL* VWS on my machine, and throw out more than one year's worth of an
investment in time developing DECwindows expertise. That would be *MOST*
distressing! 8^(

| If I am not mistaken, if you are running DECwindows V2, you can put in
DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM the following symbols:
$ DECW$COLOR == "FALSE"
$ DECW$BITONAL == "TRUE"
This will give you a B/W system;
If you define just:
$ DECW$COLOR == "FALSE"
Then you get a grey scale system.

| Jeff is right, although I'm not quite sure why you can't just load the
colormap with all shades of gray to accomplish the same thing without having
to restart.

Why don't you just use SEDAN. It is DECwindows based and will allow you to
edit stimulus for and display results from AUTODLY or DECSIM. It is
currently in field test. Send me mail if you want to get a test release.
(A new one may be out this week).

be included in the next release of AUTODLY. Contact me by mail if you
need the new version before the next release.
