1410.0. "slide creation under decwindows" by BERN01::TRACHSEL () Mon Sep 11 1989 13:14

hellow,

what dec- or other software allows to fullfill following 4 points:

1) create high quality color slides/pictures for praesentations, dias etc.

2) provides a interface to ddif and postscript (color <--> monochrome)

3) is DECwindows integrated (not only in a vt3xx, vt2xx emulation, but
   supp. of mouse etc., like decw$paint, but colored etc.)

4) supports thermo-transfer-printing

what kind of standards/formats (also in relation to ddif converting) should
one consider else, if this searched product has to support video-camera-systems
for image acquisition etc.(input), and dia-creation (output)

how far is DECpresenter, could it be an alternative?

thanks p.t

    DECpresenter will meet the first 3 of the four requirements you listed.
    The 4th depends on your finding a thermal-transfer printer that
    supports PostScript.

    As for video cameras, etc. for image capture, contact the Image
    Services Group or check their notesfile at VISUAL::IMAGING.

    DECpresenter's currently in Phase 2. There will be internally
    available baselevels later this year.

1410.2QMS ColorScript 100KASINO::TALLETTJust one more bug to fix...Wed Sep 13 1989 05:5013
    Hi there!

    	For colour thermal transfer PostScript, see the QMS ColorScript 100
    	from QMS on (205)633-4300.

    	I have seen a few engineering groups using these for some time,
    	and it looks great.

    hellow everybody answering me,

    great! thanks to you!

    DECpresenter?

	Nope.. RAGS/VOYER is an internal product and DECpresentor will be
	a layered product sold to customers. (Yes, I know RAGS/VOYER may
	be available thru ASSETS but that's a wee bit different)

re: .1 Any idea where VISUAL::IMAGING went? Or for that matter the netkits for
DAS, DSS, VAS, VSA all of which used to be on VISUAL?

thanks

    VISUAL::IMAGING is alive and well. So is EDWIN::IMAGE_SERVICES, where
    you probably should look for the kit question's answer.
