When processing is occurring the pointer changes color from my selected
color of red to white. Where is the control to effect the color of
the pointer when processing. White is hard to see.

Okey, dokey. Here are the facts!
VMS5.3 DECW053, DECWRITE, DECW$MAIL, BOOKREADER
Specifically: DECW-MAIL, DECWRITE AND BOOKREADER. When you double click
the little watch turns white, virtually transparent.
MVII, GPX, 3 RD54s, 16mg.

This problem in VMS X5.3-461 (cursor color) has been discussed in
VAXWRK::VMS_FIELD_TEST note 246.50 with a commitment to have it fixed
by the external field test.
