1329.0. "Session manager question" by WHELIN::TASCHEREAU (Caught with my windows down.) Tue Aug 29 1989 10:16

    I have a simple question:

    	Is the scrolling message region of the session manager a
    	text widget or something else? Thanks.

    It is a simple text widget.

Why is it that the message window in the session manager used to display
new mail messages and print and batch job completions - and now it doesn't
(at least on my system: V5.2 SSB or V5.3 FT with DECW V2)
All it displays are: starting application ... and new mail count when logging on.

1329.3Then why no Select/Copy/Paste?CASEE::RAYNERDoug -- CLT/CASEE, Valbonne, FranceWed Aug 30 1989 06:165
    Ah, finally an opportunity to ask a question I've had since early FT of
    DECwindows V1! Why isn't it possible to select text in the message
    window (and copy/paste or quick-copy to other windows)? If it is an
    SText widget, someone must have gone out of their way to disable this!

1329.4But it marches !VISA::BIJAOUIBest before November 1989Wed Aug 30 1989 10:468
    Re: .-1
    It works. You can even change the fonts if you wish, to some
    non-propotional spacing (can't remember the technical term for that) if
    you wish to see the OPCOM messages (which I get displayed _too_ in my
    session manager) formatted fine, and good looking enough.

RE: .2

Is there perchance a SET TERM/NOBROADCAST or a SET BROAD=NONE in your LOGIN.COM,
SYLOGIN.COM, or DECW$LOGIN.COM?
