1307.0. "Paint exit with FRAMIMPER" by STKHLM::HOLM (Ski the trees - Kiss the beavers) Mon Aug 21 1989 08:47

	Hi !

A customer of mine got a problem with Paint under decwindows.
If he starts Paint everything works OK. He do some painting
and then he saves the file. Then if he tries to open this file
again with paint to do more work he sometimes get an error
	message like this:

%IMG-F-FRAMIMPER - frame import error when importing data for
                           frame id 40
%DDIF-E-ENDSTREAM - end of stream detected before logical
 			    end of data.

Can anyone give me a hint of what to look for ?

	Regards

A customer of mine is also seeing similar errors, the files were
originally created using Paint. There seems to be no relation between
size and the problem and to my knowledge the software environment
hasn't changed since the files were created.

Any pointers to the problem ?

    	Thank's

I don't know what was causing this problem, but I'm pretty sure that
it is not present in any of the DECwindows V2 baselevels. Certain files, when
edited in certain ways and then saved, would cause this crash if an attempt
were made to reopen them. I was not able to figure out what the problem was,
but editing the same file in the same way with V2 paint worked
properly. Also, attempting to open a bad file with V2 paint will not cause
a crash, just a message saying that the file cannot be opened.
