Friday, our LAVC was upgraded to SSB VMS5.2. Everything went well
and satellites boot into cluster fine. Something strange happens
on all the satelites, however. When a user logs in, the DIGITAL
logo and the password box do not clear when decwindows starts the
session manager. The user can log out and relogin and it clears
fine, or he can create a new session and it will clear.
What is making it not clear right on the first loggin session of
day. As I said, it is not just one user, but at least 4. Most
of the users have vaxstation 3100, however 1 user has a MVII GPX.
Since all users are experiencing this, I must have something out
of wack on the system somehow.
Any advise will be appreciated.

| If you had read the release notes, it says, remove all invocations of DECW$STARTUP.COM
from your SYSTARTUP_V5.com file.
What you are seeing is DECwindows being started twice. DECwindows now gets started by
the startup driver (SMI) from the sysman database.
