    I'm suddenly getting "X Toolkit Error: Can't open display" messages
    from an application's XtInitialize call.  DECW$DISPLAY is defined (by
    default) as WSA1.
    
    I can SET DISPLAY/CREATE and everything works, but that doesn't help
    find out what's wrong.  How do I find out what's causing the problem?
    
    Have the error messages (and error-checking) improved in V2?

	I am running DECWindows on a 3500, VMS 5.1-1, 16MB of memory. I cannot open more than 3 applications through fileview. I get the brilliantly expressive message "Xtoolkit error: can't open display" if I attempt to open the fourth application. Another related (I think) problem is that the session manager disappears when I attempt to open additional terminal windows if I already have my alloted 3 fileview applications. Is this just a problem with setting the system parameters? Mark

	I found 1166.xx and had my system mangler set the gblsection and gblpages params higher and the problem seems to be solved.
