1182.0. "postscript with LATSYM" by MUHTSC::SUSANNE () Thu Jul 27 1989 07:15
Hello,
I converted the file clock.ddif under decw$examples in a postscript file
clock.ps with the utility convert/document.
The problem now is that if I print that file on a ln03R without script-
printer software installed on it, it doesn't occur. It is send to the ln03R
and the completion message is coming back but the ln03r is not printing.
However if the scriptprinter software is installed there is no problem at
all.
The only obvious difference I can see compared to other postscript files is
that the actual information of the picture itself is complementary.
I suppose the problem is the LATSYM. By testing I found that there are similar
problems printing postscriptfiles created by other utilities. (Eg. you have to
convert/fdl a postscriptfile created with capture portion of screen to a record
format other than streamed.) .
Does anybody know about the restrictions of file-properties (eg. record format
and length) the LATSYM can handle?
By the way, this note is inserted into the notes-conferences:
BAGELS::LAT
BULOVA::DECWINDOWS
REGENT::SCRIPTPRINTER
Thanks for any help
