hi all, got a problem when using EVE from FileView window, every time I try and edit a file using EVE the file does not seem to be journaled, or so it says anyway. I haven't been able to crash out of EVE yet to see if a .TJL file has been created (tried CTRL/Y but key has no definition) Anyway the VAXTPU options are unchanged from the default and any help to why the editing session is not being journaled would be much appreciated Thanks in advance Gurj.

1162.1 | no journaling in 1st DW release | ZIBBY::ROBINSON | Bill | Mon Jul 24 1989 09:41 | 15 |
The release notes should have told you that there was no journaling in the first release of DECwindows. The old keystroke journaling (to a .TJL file) does not work in the DEcwindows environment, and we had no time to implement an alternative...until recently. We've just released an internal kit (EVETPU::TPU$KIT:TPU024.A) that supports buffer-change journaling in DECwindows. It journals only changes to each buffer, not each keystroke. The old keystroke journaling mechanism is still in the editor for character cells. By the way, you can tell if a .TJL file exists by issuing the command: DCL DIR *.TJL. Bill | |||||
