     I am aware of the fact that DECpaint supports copying to the
    Clipboard so that an application that understands DDIF can choose
    to paste that image into one of it's windows.
    
    Does anyone know whether DECpaint in any of it's future forms
    (i.e. color, high res, ...) will support the more general
    global selection mechanism ?

	Well, this feature is not in either VMS DECwindows V2 or UWS V2.2. Requirements for later bundled versions of DECpaint are still open. Please send this request to the product manager, Don Harbison (SARAH::HARBISON). Thanks. -pd
