| If you are installing this version of DECwindows on a T5.2-1 system,
then due to the way the VMS version number is checked the installation
will fail. The workaround is to define DECW$IGNORE_VERSION to something
(anything will do).
Disclaimer: I am in no way involved with the DECwindows team; I just
found this because I tried to do it, and looked at the KITINSTALL.COM
to find the workaround.

| The statement "VMSKIT only serves areas 2 and 19" isn't quite true. It only
allows access via specific proxy accounts for the other redistribution sites.
It's not meant as a general kit access point.

I'd like to make sure that I'm clear on something. The 'DECW' savesets
located with the VMS savesets for VMS V5.2 is really still version 1.0 of
DECwindows, correct?

Well, the DECwindows with VMS V5.2 certainly isn't DECwindows V2,
though it may have some improvements over what shipped with V5.1.

Documentation for the FT1 version of DECwindows V2 is in:

This documentation only seems to cover the changes from DECwindows V1. You
can find the IFT1 manuals in:
