1101.0. "Calculator stack dumps, %SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO" by SHRFAC::SMITH () Wed Jul 12 1989 18:24
The Calculator is stack dumping on me when I invoke it. The calculator was
performing properly until a power failure crashed my system. The file is not
corrupt - I checked it VIA analyize & have copied it to another workstation
which called it up correctly. After stopping & restarting the DECwindows I
was able to start it with no problem. Now this afternoon it died on me again
with the following dump:
(the message mask=04 came up as mask=05 each time I tried
to invoke it prior to restarting the windows)
Calendar [debug] -- last bitmap EOB misaligned; continuing ...
DB EXTEND: Eof - Bitmap size mismatch, Using EOF.
%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=04, virtual address=00020000, PC

1101.1 | Further information on the problem. | SHRFAC::SMITH | | Wed Jul 12 1989 18:35 | 17 |

-< Calculator stack dumps, %SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO >-
Further info. on the problem:
I have already checked to see that the user process parameters have not
changed. Running Autogen or VPA pickup nothing on the system.
Could it be in a system parameter? A few weeks ago the DECterm's disappeared
on me. There was no trace in the log files etc. When I created a new DECterm
(didn't quit out of the current window session) it started with DECterm 1, not
4 or 5 where I would have expected it to start.
Could this be related?

1101.2 | GBLSECTIONS & GBLPAGES perhaps? | RAINBO::HARRIS | Repeal the law of gravity: Juggle! | Sat Jul 15 1989 17:16 | 4 |
| I had similar problems Thursday when trying to start DECterm. I lost
the session manager with an access violation. It turned out that I was
too low on the SYSGEN parameters GBLSECTIONS & GBLPAGES.

1101.3 | Hardware problem | SHRFAC::SMITH | | Tue Jul 18 1989 16:15 | 8 |
| Colorado spent 2+ hours on the phone with me this am. They're confident it's a
hardware (CPU) problem since it has worked off & on over the past week. Works
when it wants... I've called Fiels Service.
This should be the end of it.
