1000.0. "Appl specific font files - what directory?" by SMAUG::FLOWERS (IBM Interconnect Eng. 226-7716) Thu Jun 22 1989 09:34
Hi,
Our layered application ships with it it's own set of
fonts (4 to be exact). My question concerns the directory
in which to place these 4 font files...
Right now we have them in sys$common:[sysfont.decw.75dpi] (on VMS) and
have had no problems. However, I imagine that this directory is "owned"
by VMS DECwindows and any upgrade could possibly wipeout the contents?
I've also noticed the directory sys$common:[sysfont.decw.user_75dpi]. Is
this for customers' use only?
Perhaps we should create our own directory? [sysfont.decw.xxxx] If we
do this, what do we have to watch out for when using XSetFontPath? It says
that it sets the font path name for the entire server (not on a client
connection basis)...will this mess up other apps?
Any help and pointers welcome. Thanks,
Dan
ps - I've had no luck in the decwindows_programming notesfile...
