One more question, please! We know how to start an application automatically when a user loggin. But the session manager application remains active allowing the user to do a lot of unlikeable and not-wanted actions. How to desactivate the sesion manager letting our application run alone? best regards Maya DAN

The way I see it there are basically two options open to you. You can either stop the Session Manager process or use resource names to 'deselect' any/some/all options from the Session Manager. The process is usually the one that has your username as its process name on VMS. I've posted a note somewhere here that has a list of resource names for the Session Manager. From my understanding, these resource names are not supported and may change with future releases. The resource names can go in either the DECW$SM_GENERAL.DAT or the DECW$XDEFAULTS.DAT files. I prefer the XDEFAULTS file since this too is not *really* supported. -=> Jim <=- |
