951.0. "Auto Login to DECWINDOW" by HGOSPS::LIWAICHUNG () Thu Jun 15 1989 06:04
Hi,
My customer is converting a VWS application to DECwindow one. This
application is started from a remote host system by using net object.
Under VWS enviroment,no login procedure required on the VAXstation.
But now, he has to login the DECwindow (under "DIGITAL" logo) before
he can start his application from the remote host.
Actually, the end user of the VAXstation has to go through another
login procedure under the application control.
Is there any way to bypass the standard login procedure?
Any idea!
Chung,

| Answers to these and many more questions have been answered before.
What you need to investigate is giving user access to the server and
then stop the logon process. This will give you a blank (grey) screen.
From the 'remote' system you can do one of several differents things to
get the application to display/run on the workstation.
I do not off hand have all the note pointers, but if you do at least a
directory you should be able to get the info that you need to get you
started.
Hope this helps.
