940.1 | Try SETENV? | DECWIN::FISHER | Burns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO3-4/W23 | Tue Jun 13 1989 21:54 | 6 |
| Perhaps dxcalendar etc do not understand the -display switch? (Just
guessing). Try SETENV DISPLAY display::0 instead.

| The only ones that do work are xterm and dxterm. Has any one else gotten this
to work?

940.3 | Me too.. | CWORLD::SMITH | Design Entry Process Development Group | Wed Jun 14 1989 11:18 | 5 |
| I'd be interested myself. I've got a PMAX that has software which I'd
like to display on my 3500 also. Does XUE work?

940.4 | You need the UID too. | MIPSBX::thomas | The Code Warrior | Wed Jun 14 1989 13:12 | 4 |
| dxterm and xterm work because they setuid-root and therefore can set
the username to use for proxy. The others can't and default to the
uid instead.
|
940.5 | I added the uid to the security file and it works. | ASDS::WALSH | | Wed Jun 14 1989 14:11 | 2 |
| VMS requires bot UID and Username from ultrix nodes.
