It's called "Mouse Simulation" and is quite intentional. Try
Control-F3 to toggle this mode.

As a broad suggestion to all users of this conference, it would be a good
idea to use "DIR/TITLE=<string>" to check if the topic you are about to
enter has already been discussed. (DIR/TITLE=arrow reveals other notes on
this particular topic.)

Sorry about the stupid question - it just didn't occur to me that
it could be something so obvious. Shoulda read the release notes,
right? Re repeating a previously entered question - to me it was
such an esoteric problem that I could not possibly believe someone
had asked it before ;-). Besides, doing a dir/title to BULOVA
across the Atlantic is, well, not instantaneous. Won't do it again,
sorry...
Thanks for answering, anyway.

| You don't need to do a DIR across the Atlantic - don't forget the
UKCSSE::SHADOW_DECWINDOWS conference in Reading, updated nightly.

Thanks Andy, I wasn't aware of the conference in Reading. I'll add
it to my notebook right away!

905.6 | "arrow?" | DECWIN::FISHER | Burns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO3-4/W23 | Tue Jun 13 1989 12:19 | 9 |
| Jeeze, I never would have thought of "arrow" as a keyword to search for
in this situation.
As moderator, I have to agree with requests to try to find the topic in
the conference already, but as a noter, I also recognize that finding the
right thing to search for can be a non-trivial assignment.
