879.0. "Can I Press the Ctrl Key?" by HSOMAI::CHANG () Sat Jun 03 1989 21:29

I recently added the print screen function to my very old CORE graphics
standard (developed by the GSPC of the ACM SIGGRAPH) on top of the DECWIndows.
User press PrintScreen key trigger the CORE program to send client message to
a print server to generate a B/W sixel file capture the whole screen then
send to a designated queue (LN03R, LJ250,...). Press Shift PrintScreen keys
will inform print server generate a color sixel file. Before I wrap up this
project, the Control PrintScreen were pressed accidentally, then the whole
DECWindows server crashed.

After two hours bugging and crashing, I decided to test the DECBURGER program.
Pressed those two keys did the same result.

I use VAXStation 3100 and VMS 5.1B, any help will be greatly appreciated. If
this is a known bug, will it be fixed soon? customer may have to special
order the keyboard without the control key.

    Never mind. I hitted these two keys again and everything got stored
    back safely. Is anyone know where this feature documented?

    Thanks.

    It's definitely documented... CTRL/F2 toggles you in and out of the
    "operator window".

    Can't remember where it tells you that, though.
