I running into a situation where DECwindows doesn't recognize a color
monitor.
VAXstation 3100 running 5.1-1 of VMS. He's got a VR160 monitor, but no
colors.
Session Manager Customize doesn't indicate color selections.
Went to console mode and did a TEST 4, graphics test if I remember
correctly. But anyway the test DID display colors on the terminal.
I checked to see what devices were loaded by VMS. I find GAA0 which
indicates the VCB02 controller and color support.
Still DECwindows doesn't display colors.
Anyone seen this before or have any ideas.

Check to see if there is a sys$manager:decw$private_server_setup.com
file that contains an override to turn off color. Look at
sys$manager:decw$private_server_setup.template for details.

Does anyone know why we were not consistant in our naming convention of the 19" and 15" monitors?? 19" color VR290 19" monochrome VR260 15" color VR160 15" monochrome VR150 I've seen where people get confused thinking that the VR160 is the 15" version of the VR260, i.e. monochrome. -=> Jim <=- | |||||
