831.0. "Unrecognized Terminal?" by 23128::DAVIDCHAN (David Chan from FELEG, Hong Kong) Wed May 24 1989 03:36
As I am connecting from Hong Kong, I am sorry not to do full directory
before entering this note. BUt this is somewhat urgent!
Two of our systems have DECWindows installed each with a VS2000
as a satellite. One is a 6220 and the other is a 6210. HANTSN (a
VS2000) is connected to the 6220 while HWSDC0 (another VS2000) is
connected to the 6210.
However, when creating a DECTerm from both satellite is somewhat
different. it is fine with HANTSN while on HWSDC0, error messages
comes up as below:
Unrecognized Terminal, please see your System Manager.
and there is another symton is that no error message is output to
the DECTerm. We have done a "SH TERM" and the terminal characteristics
appears to the same on both DECTerm from both workstations.
My system manager has no clue what is happening. So can anyone give
any suggestions.
Thanks in advance
David
