I am responding to an RFP, and the must answer the following request: "It is essential that the operating system provide an X-windows (ANSI X3H3.6) user interface." Does DECwindows conform to ANSI X3H3.6? If not, how do I answer this?

801.1 | There is no formal ANSI standard yet... | XUI::VANNOY | Jake VanNoy | Thu May 18 1989 19:01 | 10 |
ANSI X3H3.6 is the group working on X11 protocol, Xlib and XtIntrinsics. They are only currently working on the protocol. They are not past the draft standard stage even with the protocol. So, yes, we conform to it as much as anyone. There is a FIPS proposal out which ignores the fact that the standard isn't accepted yet, and the FIPS includes the protocol, Xlib, and intrinics. |
