789.0. "Server intolerant of trashy network accesses" by 43372::BARKER (Jeremy Barker - NAC Europe - REO2-G/J2) Tue May 16 1989 19:51

If some random process (not a DECWindows client) does a network connect to
object X$X0 it seems to stand a good chance of killing the server process.

Is there any plan to make it more resilient.

Any suggestions? How will a server differentiate between an
honest-to-goodness X client and a random process? If the random
process doesn't speak X protocol, it isn't going to get very far with
the server and should soon be disconnected. Do you have any evidence
that such random connections are causing server crashes?
