| The boot node is a 8350 running VMS 5.1 and the Decwindows layered under it.
The satelites are GPX II, VS2000, & VS3500.

| Next time you get into this state, could you try SET HOSTing to the
hung workstation and look around? Do SHOW SYS, for example, and see
if the server is still alive. Do SHOW DEV to see if there are some
disks sitting in MountVerifyTimeout, etc.
This problem is not familiar to me, but we have more than one boot node,
so the death of one does not stop disk serving.

| I have noticed a somewhat different problem with pause.
If I pause the session, and then try to get back in, but
before typing the password I hit a <RETURN> a few times.
The end result: I cannot get back in. The security alarms
indicate my user name with password field <valid>!!!
This happened to me on a VS3200 (satelite) and 8300
(boot/disk server).
