When I create a Fileview window I get a pop-up menu that says
"The default directory is not a valid VMS directory specification.
There is an unrecognized character" with an acknowledge box."
The Fileview window come up without anything in the menu strip
and therefore I can't access anything other than terminal windows.

Hi Andy,
The only part I can see is "DISK$USER1:[PURMAL]". When I do
an apply it works just fine.

I deleted V???.VUE$DAT to get rid of the bad directory
specification and that made Fileview work properly.
It would be nice if FileView started properly even if the directory
specification was bad.
