It seems every time I try to copy anything to or from the clipboard in DECwindows, the client program crashes. I've had this happen in DECterm (the terminal controller crashes blowing away all my terminal windows) and in DECW$MAIL (the mail process crashes). It is extremely repeatable. I'm running on an SDC VMS V5.1 with a SET DISPLAY to an SDC Ultrix UWS V2.0 microvax II/GPX. I use the UWM window manager on the Ultrix side and start thing up as usual (using the session manager resource to select the window manager). Any idea what's causing this or how I can get around it? What part of the system implements the clipboard. Is it window manager, X Server, Xlib or what? Steveg

628.1 | Ultrix server bug | STAR::BMATTHEWS | Wed Apr 19 1989 11:09 | 5
I believe this is an Ultrix server bug and that a fix is in the works for their next release which I believe goes to the SDC in May sometime. Contact Al Carito for more info. Bill
628.2 | I had to get in an I-told-you-so (or at least a do-you-see-now) | DECWIN::FISHER | Burns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO3-4/W23 | Wed Apr 19 1989 13:06 | 8 |
The group which is doing interoperability testing between DEC platforms just found this problem. The fact that this testing had not been done before is one of the reasons we never claimed to support interoperability, (now I14Y...sigh) even with Ultrix. Hopefully, we will be able to claim such support soon. Burns |
