584.0. "Where's my login screen gone?" by BOOTIS::CARPENTER (Genius is second nature) Wed Apr 12 1989 06:47
I seem to have of a problem with logging out and then back into DECwindows.
It doesn't happen every time but more often than not the quit session function
of the session manager kills all the windows and just seems to hang. I can
leave it for hours but I don't get back to the login screen.
I'm running VMS 5.1/DECwindows SDC on a 6mb VS2000 and I don't have a
DECW$LOGOUT.COM
The only slightly unusual thing is that I don't create a DECterm controller
by having the following lines in my DECW$LOGIN.COM
$
$ display = f$trnlnm("decw$display")
$ display_number = f$extract(3,f$length(display)-4,display)
$
$ spawn/nowait/input=nl:/PROC="DECW$TE_''display_number'" WAIT 0:01:00
Any help would be appreciated 'cos I think my system manager is going to
strangle me if I ask him to restart the decwindows login again!
Stephen.
