try the following in DECW$XDEFAULTS.DAT:
*DTButton.sensitive: False
or something like it. I used to do the following for FileView until I started
to *like* FileView ;)
*VueButton.sensitive: False
And it worked great.

in the DECW$XDEFAULTS.DAT file and all the other decw$*.dat files??
