There is currently no way for an application to clear the
clipboard (yes, we can clear the last thing we wrote, but
not in general). For editors (EVE, LSE), this is a problem.
EVE (and LSE) have made available the EDT behavior of
<SELECT><REMOVE> erasing the paste buffer. This should
be available with the clipboard since it is the paste
buffer in DECwindows.
