520.0. "A DW Contributor Moves On" by SICVAX::TIMMINS (XUI & OSF - Perfect Together) Sat Apr 01 1989 04:25

    I just wanted to say a warm goodbye to a consultant who has been
    working with Digital (through Ed Services and the ISV training
    programs) for at least 18 months.

    Dave Burleigh has made a definite mark at Digital. His efforts can
    be seen in the DECwindows courseware that Ed Services is using and
    will (hopefully soon) be seen in a two-week course on DECwindows
    programming.

    Besides useful insights into graphic programming and ideas, Dave
    also never hesitated to contribute -- just look at the DW_EXAMPLES
    notes conference.

    I first met Dave back in Sept 1987 while auditing a X10 Programming
    Course on Ultrix in Bedford. I and others at Digital that know him
    wish him well in his new ventures.

    Where is Dave going?

520.2last I heard...NEURON::NICHOLSONI wrestle computers for a livingMon Apr 17 1989 02:4010
    Dave was an outside consultant and his contract ran out. Last I heard
    he was contemplating writing a book on XUI (aka OSF/Motif) Toolkit
    while supporting himself by doing consulting and teaching on X.

    I had hoped he was going to be developing a follow on course to
    the excellent DECwindows Programming Environment course that he
    developed.

    Dave's office (home) phone is (617) 436-3803.

    You're in luck .2, before Dave's contract completed, he put together
    quite a bit of source material and labs that we are currently using to
    build a follow-on DECwindows Programming Environment course. Look for
    it this summer!
