480.0. "Version for VS 3520/3540?" by OIWS20::BRYSON () Mon Mar 27 1989 11:24

When the Firefox becomes supported, what version of VMS will we be at and will
the DECwindows version still be V1.0? Also, I notice the DECW$DEVICE.COM loads
the GBBDRIVER as the graphics driver and that the input devices are TTA0: and
TTA1:. What will be the port input driver for the VS 3520/3540?

Firefox (VS3520/3540) support will be in VMS V5.1-1. As V5.1-1 is an update
release, you will need to first install V5.1-B for stand-alone systems.**

DECwindows V1.0 runs on Firefox, but there are fixes in V5.1-1.

The actual, device handling port is YEDRIVER. Just like the 2000 and 3100.

** There are 2 scenarios:

	o Stand alone system installation: Install V5.1-B, DW V1.0, V5.1-1

	o Adding to a cluster: Get cluster to V5.1 + DW V1.0, then install 5.1-1

Will the path you describe leave you with a cluster that can support
both Firefox and PVAX?

    If you have V5.1-1 you will support all low end products such as:

    		VS3100 (pvax)
    		VS3520/3540  (firefox)
    		MicroVAX 3300/3400

    and all other ones that V5.0 supported.
