| If this is Ultrix and not Unix you can get DECnet-Ultrix and just use
the DECnet-Ultrix dcp command to copy from ultrix to vms and use the
vms copy command to copy from vms to ultrix.
From VMS fileview you can use the pull down menu File and specify the
output file including the ultrix node name. I would assume there is
the same pull down menu on ultrix.

Not for odd type files (stream, large records, etc).
Using a vms copy commands causes vms to use RMS and you don't want
rms coded files on the ultrix - you can end up with some extra bits
you didn't ask for.
We have used SPOOL or the FTSV programs, as they appear to do straight
block io without trying to interpret the records.
And it's fast.

| I haven't had any problems coping files from an Ultrix system to a VMS
system with the normal VMS DCL copy command since stream_lf support has
been added to FAL.

| With the Connection (UCX) you can use the ftp command to move files
between *any* system that supports the 'file transfer protocol" and
VMS systems. This essentially includes most UNIX systems.
