| You need UWS2.0. This has the base Ultrix3.0 operating system as
well as the DECwindows stuff. Your best bet is to get a support
kit from SDC.
Installing UWS2.0 is just like installing Ultrix3.0. You put in
the supported tape, type
>>> b mua0
and then follow the directions.
I believe that getting kits off the network presents a licensing
issue with regard to DEC's license with AT&T.

387.2 | Another kit? | NITMOI::WITHERS | No life I know can compare with pure imagination | Mon Mar 20 1989 16:22 | 19 |
| Hello again.
I had a brief problem (being sent the V2.3 Ultrix kit) and have
just got the Ultrix V3.0 kit including:
o Ultrix V3.0 Standalone
o Ultrix V3.0 Supported
o Ultrix V3.0 UnSupported
After installation, the default banner in /etc/motd proclaims Ultrix
V3.0 and UWS V2.0 yet the workstation is still in native (yuck)
mode.
Is the UWS V2.0 another kit (tape) that is not included in the standard
Ultrix V3.0 (MicroVax II/VS2000) package?

Yes, that's what you need to install DECwindows software...the tape is normally
marked as WS 2.0....
Very confusing...we have sent in an SPR to have "good titles" assigned to the
Ultrix software media...at the momment, many newcomers to Ultrix get easily
confused.
