Has anyone written the code (which could use the color selection widget forthe SM) to allow a user to select a pixmpa for color. I am looking for something like the SM uses for setting the colors -- three scales for R, G, and B. What it neds to do is print out the numeric value to use. in ths way a user can decide what colors to use where. X10R4 had a program called pikapix which gave this functionality. X11R3 has cpicker which I cannot get to work properly under DECwindows (claims it cannot find a geometry manager). Both cpicker and the older pikapic actually gave more funtionality. One was asked to pick a window. then as you adjusted colors the colors in that window changed so you could see what it would look like before you made your choice. Very nice. Fred, the OSF/MOTIF demo has code that will do just what you want. I have an executable ("colordemo") ...at: fuel::/usr/users/guest/xpublic/colordemo (vax) the source code is also there in :/usr/users/guest/xpublic/ if you have problems compiling for a PMAX, send me mail....I have a Pmax version. There's a program in ELKTRA::DW_EXAMPLES, note 105 that will let you interactively try various combinations of colors for the background and foreground. |
