Using UWS 2.0 What I would like to do is save the changes to the FileView layout. I selected "customize" then "file properties". I then selected "Ascending" and "filename". Click on the OK box, and all is well. My problem is how to save it. If I go to "control" and "save as startup view", it does not save. If I save as a new view - the same thing. The next time I create a ue window, the files are displayed in the old unsorted order. Is there any way around this. Also I notice that the VMS implementation has a LOT more functionality! (Coming from a die-hard Ultrix person - this is quite an admission!) For instance, there is no way (short of editing the .ue_profile" file) to remove a created fileview. This is a real pain! Rashid.

This is not tied to RE: .0 of this note, but it is on the same subject, so instead of creating a new note... I must be missing something with the saving in FileView. I can't figure out why the user would be able to save FileView parameters, to a specific name, but then have not means of restoring them. What is the purpose of Save View... if you cannot later call that view up from FileView? $$$$ ted $$$$ | |||||

If you're talking about the VMS version (.0 was not), when you save a view its name will appear on the Views menu. When you select an entry from this menu, that view will be restored. Tom |
