| RE. Byte Swapping
The server automatically handles byte swapping for you, based on
data sent by your application to the server when the connection is
established.
Regarding the version - the last I saw in print said X11.2, however
since we are using the same intrinsics as the current MIT version
(or so I've been told) .... well that brings up a good question...

| DECwindows is based on X11R2 with some specifics included from R3. The
intrinsics in DECwindows are the R3 intrinsics as is the font specification
stuff. There might be more; this is from memory and I am not a DECWdeveloper

| My understanding from UEG is that PMAX is closer to R3 than other DEC WS.
The VAX versions(both VMS and ULTRIX) tend to be closer to R2.
