What (if any) are the problems with calling TPU from a DECwindows
application? Is anyone writing a TPU-widget - Now that'd be
added-value over Xlib!

At present, we are not engaged in writing a TPU widget.
We do, however, agree that this would be a valuable thing to do. Our
only questions are about relative priorities with this as opposed to
work_file support, fixing journalling, etc. etc. But it *is* on our
list.
As far as calling TPU from a DECWindows application goes: we have enhanced
the calling interface to allow for some aspects of the new environment
(such as getting TPU to run in a pre-defined widget), but we have not
documented this at this point.
