235.0. "image display program available" by DCC::ALDEN (Ken Alden) Fri Feb 17 1989 08:42

I'm looking to take some UTOX screen captures and put them together to make a
rolling demo for DECwindows. I know I can use UTOX to redisplay the images,
but I can't tell UTOX *Where* to put them. xpaste, on the otherhand, is
a possible choice, since I can tell it where to paste the image. Does anyone
know of a FAST application that can read utox images, (DDIF is best, since
it is more general) and display them on any given display, in an assigned
location?

Thanks,
-Ken

I know its been a while since the original note was written, but here's just
what you're looking for...

Using the command line interface /GEOMETRY qualifier, UTOX V2.0 has the
ability to display various image formats (including DDIF) and specify where
to put them on the screen. Also related to demos is the /EXIT=n qualifier
which makes UTOX exit n seconds after displaying the image.

For more info on UTOX V2.0 see note 2 in CLT::UTOX.

Does anybody know where I can find an application called XSLIDE
for Ultrix or VMS? This supposedly can be used to display a "slide
    show".

Peter Hack and company produced a working proto of such a beast.
I saw Larry Timmins (sicvax::Timmins) demo it on his workstation.
You can send him mail.

Kris.
