192.0. "? GCADRIVER patch for VR100 ?" by MUNCSS::KOETHE (Manfred Koethe CSS SW Engineering Munich) Tue Feb 14 1989 06:25

Is there any way to patch the GCADRIVER to initialize the video
controller chip on the QVSS the same way as the VWS VCDRIVER does
when TTY_DIALTYPE = 0 ? This would avoid the oversized screen image
on an otherwise perfectly working VR100 (connected to a MicroVAX II
    via QVSS).

    Thanks in advance,

    Manfred

My personal opinion is, the VR100 was never SHIPPED with the VSII, so therefore
the default behavior should be that for the VR260, like it currently is. A
"feature" has been provided to make the hybrid system work.

    re .1

This is true. However, my hybrid station is the result of a piece
by piece upgrade from a VSI. In the near future I see no way to
    exchange the monitor.

    re .3

Yes, TTY_DIALTYPE = 64 was the clou. Now I have nice windows on
    my VR100. Thanks a lot.

By the way, could you or someone else please publish a list of all
TTY_DIALTYPE bits used by DECwindows and their meaning here?

I know several for VWS, but none (besides 64) for DECwindows.

    Thanks again,
