163.0. "Scrolling and optimising text" by EMC2::FIRTH (Chris Firth, Digital FYO, DTN 885 6719) Thu Feb 09 1989 04:21

Further to my note 107 I would like to know if it is possible
to "scroll" a window of text, rather than clear the window and
rewrite the text. Also, can I optimise my i/o by writing, say,
10 lines of text in one call, instead of by 10 separate calls.

    Thanks for any help.

Use XCopyArea to copy a region of text in any direction, then
draw the text that is "scrolling in".
